The project involved the expansion and upgrading of Bromont’s Caisse Desjardins. Management took advantage of the opportunity to make improvements to the building’s mechanical systems to enhance security, energy efficiency and employee comfort. Management also wanted to provide electric charging stations for customers with electric vehicles. In doing so, the capacity of the existing electrical panel was becoming insufficient, and had to be relocated and replaced.

The addition of a conference room required ventilation modules to make the area comfortable without compromising the well-being of the rest of the Caisse’s employees. A set of ventilation system shutters and sensors ensured that heat and air conditioning were evenly distributed throughout the building.

Employees had long been asking for temperature control in their offices. We installed thermostats and electric baseboard heaters in every office. The installation of temperature sensors, linked to the central heating system, made it possible to modulate the heating and air-conditioning required in the different areas of the Caisse, thus reducing the building’s heating costs. Heating costs account for 48% of electricity expenditure for a commercial building.
